1. Information We Collect
When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and any profile information you choose to provide (photo, bio, location, links). When you use the platform we collect usage data such as events posted, messages sent, and follows.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate Linkup, personalise your experience, send transactional emails (verification, password reset), and display your public profile. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Public Information
Your profile, display name, handle, bio, location, and links are publicly visible to anyone — including visitors who are not logged in. Event posts are also public. Your email address is never publicly displayed.
4. Messages
Direct messages between users are stored in our database. Messages are only accessible to the participants of a conversation. We do not read your private messages except when required by law or to investigate reported abuse.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from your profile page. Deletion removes your profile, posts, and personal data within 30 days. Some data may be retained in backups for up to 90 days.
6. Third-Party Services
We use Firebase (Google) for authentication, database, and file storage. Your data is stored on Firebase infrastructure subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We may use Sentry for error tracking.
7. Cookies
We use session cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To request a data export or deletion, contact us at the email below.
9. Children
Linkup is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us immediately.
